Had a bad experience here last night. The website said music from 10-2 but the band only played from 10:30-12. We were not previously informed of this at the door and we payed $10 at the door foe this entertainment. This was completely unacceptable. When I brought my feelings to the attention of management i was told there was nothing they could do. I asked for a $5 refund and was offered a round of drinks instead. I accepted the round but the manger neglected to give me my drink (i feel out of spite). Also as we were leaving, the bartender decided to fling change at us from the bar. I'm completely disappointed and can't believe the undeserved lack of respect received. I will not go back.

Anytime I am in town, my first question is always, "Wait - who is playing at the Jazz tonight?" That needs an answer before any other plans are even proposed. This has been our go-to music spot for 10-plus years, and it is no surprise it has outlasted pretty much every other music-heavy venue in the area (size: 200-300 people). We've seen countless national acts perform here with very intimate experiences. Even the local nights are entertaining, especially with open mic on Wednesdays. The Jazz can't guaranty you will personally enjoy every band to come through. There are simply too many bands of too many styles. But you will get a first class experience with a friendly wait staff and surprisingly good food. (You should always look up the specials before you come here.) Overall, best venue ever to comfortably drink and watch bands. I can safely say I've been drunker here than any other shows. Especially evenings with Lotus, The Pietasters, and Doug Stanhope. Great music, great dancing, and great people. Can't beat this place.

The Jazz Cafe is a fun, small venue for local and nationally touring acts. I've seen Lotus, Pete Francis of Dispatch and most recently Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds here. Crowd is crazy diverse and ranges from couples clad in business casual attire to the hippest of hipsters to jam band junkies. The sound system is overpowered for the space making it very hard to carry on any conversations. Cover varies depending on the performers (usually around $15-25 for a big act) but drink specials make up for it. The whole place is very clean and food is decent enough. If an artist you like or are interested in seeing comes to the Jazz Cafe, its worth the trip since the venue is so small and intimate. You can really connect with the performers and usually they walk out and mingle with the crowd between and after their sets.

Been in a few times for beers and music but hadn't eaten anything til the other night, burger special. No great shakes but not bad either. Took awhile and was well done instead of medium like I ordered. I'd probably order again though for $5.

Great for drinks and music. The artists they bring in are fun and fresh. The venue also produces wonderful sound. The bar staff is very friendly and attentive. The drinks are made well and are not too pricey. During happy hour they have Lionshead bottles for $1.50 which is great. The food is over priced. It is tasty but

Don't let the name fool you this place not only has live jazz, but rock, hard rock, funk, reggae... you name it... Decided to check it out one Friday to see a show. The venue is small and intimate. Good place to see some live music. There is a long bar area, seating towards the back and and outside patio/smokers lounge. I guess the crowd depends on who you're seeing... I went solo which is cool for me. A number of different people were talking about how their friends didn't make it down that night b/c they were afraid nobody they know would be there... um ok... didn't realize this was a high school party?? In any case the drinks were reasonably priced, the bartenders were very cool and attentive, and the bands sounded good in the small space. Can't speak about the food there. Would go back if a good band is coming back around. The cover was $10. TIP: It's kinda hard to find... You can see a small sign from the street indicating where it is... once you pull in the parking lot you will see some offices... it is on the ground floor and you will see some white lattice work outside and you have to go down the stairs.

Wow. Overpriced for what you get. The sound is terrible in here and hey you don't have to turn the volume up all the way on your amp it distorts the sound in here duhhhh. Was warned about the place, dirty etc but didn't listen ohh well.

Great venue...a sea of tables... though I'm not sure if there is actually table service. It is a must hang out if you are into jam bands and the scene it brings

This is a good middle-class bar/hang out to go to. They have excellent prices on their beers and mixed drinks. They have a low if minimal cover charge. I highly recommend this as an awesome place to hang out on Friday or Saturday night if you're in the area. One recommendation I would have for improvement would be to bring in cover bands. On the night I was there they had two bands, but they only played their own music, which nobody has ever heard. I understand that these people need to try to play their own music to make it big, but for 99% of the population, we like to hear excellent music that we recognize.

Stopped in for dinner after i found out the chef from another local spot (279 bar) had moved to the Jazz cafe. I posted a similar review on trip advisor because people need to know how good the food is now. Every time I'm in the nepa area I try to find new places to dine. So after hearing that the Jazz cafe had added a real chef, I had to try it. We ordered: eggplant Napoleon, house and Caesar salad, 5 spice tuna, and seafood lasagna. Amazing! The eggplant was so good - crispy and delicious. the salads were fresh and full of flavor. The tuna was the freshest I've had in the nepa area, and my wife's seafood lasagne was so unique, I've not had anything like it in the 71 countries I've been to. Top notch all around! I'll be going back every chance I get when I am in the area.

I've been a big fan of the jazz for years. It was the areas best venue for an intimate night of great music. But now.... Not so much. We stopped in just before 12 to find out if the scene was coming back. Cover was $12. I asked if they had taken a break yet/how long sets they gonna play? And was given the brush off. I expected they'd play until at least 130 right? Wrong. Gig ended before 1 and frankly tunes weren't very jammy. Crowd was weak to. Some folks were grooving but overall a very different scene/vibe of old. Bar service was meh to boot. I get that they want to be a foodie dining joint but it's a damned shame to put that dance floor to waste. There's lots a great places to eat... There's not enough places for good music. It's also uncool to charge a $12 cover for 45 mins of music. If you don't want to be music hall.... (But oh how i wish you would!) Ok. But don't be a poser.
